Every year, Crime Writers of Canada presents the Arthur Ellis Awards for excellence in Canadian crime writing. André Jacques is one of five finalists in the Best Crime Book in French category for his novel Ces femmes aux yeux cernés. The two previous investigations of Jacques’ character Alexandre Jobin, De pierres et de sang and La bataille de Pavie, also earned the author a nomination for an Arthur Ellis Award.

The winners will be announced on May 23.
