Druide to double all donations received for the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie

June 5, 2018 Press releases

As part of this year’s annual Golf Classic for the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie, Druide informatique has promised to match dollar-for-dollar all donations made by its customers, partners, and employees, in order to support the school canteens that the Foundation has established in Mali.

To celebrate its 25th birthday, Druide will match every dollar donated at http://www.druide.com/fondationPGL from now until June 25, up to a total of $25,000. Druide therefore invites its customers, partners, employees, and their friends to make their donations online by following the link, before June 25.

All donations will go towards the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie to support the three school canteens it established in some of Mali’s most food-scarce communities. Each canteen is run by a committee of women from the community who oversee the purchase of local food, thereby contributing to economic development in the area. They also manage the preparation and distribution of meals to the pupils. In addition, the program promotes gender equality by encouraging parents to send not only their sons but also their daughters to school, as education is often inaccessible to girls.

The foundation will supply a tax receipt for all donations of $25 or more.

More than simply a 25th birthday celebration with a difference, this commitment has been a way for Druide to redouble its support, backed by a whole community of contributors, for those across the world who share the French language. The long-running partnership between Druide and the Fondation Paul Gérin-Lajoie aims to improve education for people across the French-speaking world.

The Paul Gérin-Lajoie foundation’s mission is to promote children’s education and adult literacy in the French-speaking world’s poorest countries. The foundation works to raise awareness of international realities among young Canadians, and in Quebec, is most widely known for the Dictée P.G.L. Elsewhere, it is primarily recognized for its sponsorship programs, its Éducateurs sans frontières project, and its schools.

Created in 1993, Druide informatique produces and markets Antidote, the most complete writing assistance software suite available for English and French, as well as Typing Pal, the renowned typing tutorial application. Druide is also the creator of WebElixir, a quality assurance service for websites, while its subsidiary Éditions Druide specializes in the publication of French-language literature and reference works.
