Free Updates for the Entire Antidote Product Line
Druide informatique announces the release of Antidote 12 v4, which comes with an array of free updates for the entire writing assistance software’s product line. These updates enrich the dictionaries with hundreds of entries, improve the corrector’s detections and make connectors more stable for browsers.
More Precise Corrections
The corrector sees many improvements. It better identifies tenses in if clauses and temporal subordinate clauses (e.g. when, while, before), into/in to after a verb, and a/an before acronyms, initialisms and abbreviations, among other things. The corrector also suggests reformulations to fix complex errors more often.
Richer Dictionaries and Guides
All dictionaries are updated with new entries: 350 words and expressions, such as workslop, yassify and rain chain, and 48 etymological notes, like on the origin of duct tape, Saskatchewan and no cap. The guides get 7 articles, including one on how to recognize and avoid sneaky dangling participles.
As for the French dictionaries and guides, 750 words and expressions, 48 etymological notes and 4 articles have been added. Users whose Antidote handles both English and French can access 9000 more translations for words, expressions and combinations, as well as 6 new articles in the bilingual guides.
Antidote 12 v4 lets users sort the external resources they added to the dictionary of definitions and access a resource with the Commission de toponymie du Québec’s detailed notes.
More Efficient Integrations
The connectors for Chrome and Safari are more stable, with improvements for Gmail and Google Docs. Live Correction integrates with Outlook on the web. Adobe InDesign’s connector is updated. The keyboard shortcuts for the Correct selection and Correct clipboard commands are customizable.
Updates for the Entire Product Line
Antidote Web includes most of these new features, and Antidote Mobile benefits from the same expanded dictionaries and guides. Antidote 12 will automatically prompt users to download the update, and the App Store will do the same for Antidote Mobile. Antidote Web has already been updated. Users who own an earlier edition can upgrade their software by visiting www.antidote.info.
