The finalist for the Prix du livre jeunesse des Bibliothèques de Montréal 2017 have been revealed. Among them is the picture book Une cachette pour les bobettes, written by Andrée Poulin and illustrated by Boum. This award recognizes Montreal writers and illustrators for their unique and exceptionally crafted contributions to publications for young people aged 0 to 17. Staff members from Montreal’s 45 libraries were invited to submit 2016’s most noteworthy books. A jury composed of five children’s librarians from Montreal will select the winner, which will be revealed on October 26 at the Bibliothèque Marie-Uguay.

The winner will receive a grant of $5,000 from the City of Montreal. Finalists for the Prix du livre jeunesse will each earn a grant of $500, courtesy of the Friends of the Montreal Library. This bursary aims to recognize excellence in Montreal children’s literature and encourage creators’ efforts in producing high-quality works.
