Antidote Now Integrated With SDL Trados Studio

November 18, 2016 Press releases

At the 2016 Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec’s (OTTIAQ) conference today, Druide informatique announced that its Antidote suite now offers full integration with SDL Trados Studio. As a result, translators will be able to access Antidote’s language resources directly from their favourite editor.

Antidote 9’s tools, which include an advanced corrector, multiple dictionaries and extensive language guides, interact with major word processing and email programs, for both French and English. SDL Trados Studio is a complete translation environment, which includes translation memory, project management and terminology tools. Both applications are used on a daily basis by thousands of language-industry professionals, including many of OTTIAQ’s 2100 members.

By clicking a button in the review toolbar, users of SDL Trados Studio 2015, as well as the latest 2017 version released this month, will now be able to check their texts with Antidote’s corrector without having to leave their translation environment. They will also be able to look up the definitions, synonyms and combinations of both French and English words by selecting the desired tool in the context menu. Antidote’s dictionaries will then open to the right page, in the right language.

“Many Trados Studio users have been asking us for integration with Antidote. We’re happy to be able to provide this service through the open APIs available in both products that allow us to bring together two world-class applications for translators,” says Paul Filkin, Client Services Director at SDL.

“The development of this new connector has allowed us to form a productive relationship with the team at SDL,” says Bertrand Pelletier, Vice-President of Research and Development at Druide informatique. “As a result, we can ensure that the connector continues to be updated and developed into the coming years, benefitting professionals who translate into French or English.”

Users of SDL Trados Studio 2015 and above can download the Antidote integration module for free from the SDL store. They will also need the free Connector Update number 5 for Antidote 9 v4 for Windows. Antidote will inform users of the update’s availability and guide them through the installation. Users of previous editions can take advantage of a discounted price of $99 to upgrade from their old edition of Antidote for French to Antidote 9 for both French and English.
