To celebrate the Month of La Francophonie, seven institutions will participate this week in the Dictée Antidote des cégeps, titled Refus global 2.0. This rallying initiative launched by Druide informatique in collaboration with Cégep de Rosemont aims to promote the French language within the student body.

“This text combines humour, an earnest appeal to emotions, a nod to Borduas and his co-signers, and, for the sheer pleasure of the exercise, some French language challenges,” states Stéphan Marier, author of the Dictée, literature teacher and co-director of the French Help Centre at Cégep de Rosemont.

In addition to Cégep de Rosemont, participating institutions include Cégep André-Laurendeau, Cégep de Lanaudière à Terrebonne, Cégep de Lévis, Collège Lionel-Groulx, Collège Montmorency and O’Sullivan College. Each Cegep will give away multiple copies of Druide’s software programs, books and games to participants in a random draw.

“For nearly 20 years, Druide has supported Cégep de Rosemont in its various efforts to promote high-quality French,” explains André d’Orsonnens, Cofounder, Chairman and CEO of Druide informatique. “We immediately thought of this institution to present the first Dictée Antidote des cégeps. We couldn’t have found a better collaborator!”

Once the Dictée has taken place in participating institutions, it will be posted on Antidote’s Blog, along with an answer sheet containing enlightening explanations drawn from Antidote’s dictionaries and language guides (in French only).
